About me
race Yan is a high school senior living in Newport Beach, CA. She enjoys writing short stories, poetries, and screenplays, taking photos, making films, and swims—literally, in her school swim team, and metaphorically, among piles and piles of books. Her favorite things include cats, coffeeshops, and Victorian Era-style leather notebooks.
Her works often center around the theme, “How do I swallow the world?” She writes in every genre, from magical realism to historical fiction, in search for answers. In her view, it always comes down to the little things, the useless things, that make life grand, and she hopes her art can bring just a little more appreciation to all the overlooked, “useless” things that make up our lives.
